Privacy policy

In short: the website sets no cookies, uses no analytics or advertising tools and sends nothing about you. Only the theme you choose (dark or light) stays in your browser. You contact us by phone or on WhatsApp, only if you choose to. The Google map loads only after you press “Show the map”. The details follow below, in line with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR).

Data controller

The data controller is AUTOPRO REFINISH SRL (tax ID / CUI RO30883540, Trade Register no. J22/1915/2012), which runs the Autopro Refinish website.

What the website does (and does not do)

  • It sends nothing of what you do on it: it has no accounts and no forms that are submitted, and the damage fields only prepare a WhatsApp message in your browser (section 04).
  • It sets no cookies and uses no Google Analytics or any other analytics, tracking or advertising tools.
  • It loads nothing from third parties when you open a page: the fonts, the images and the map image are hosted with the website (the fonts do not come from Google Fonts). The one exception is the Google map, and only if you open it yourself (section 06).

Phone and WhatsApp

The “Call now” and “Call” buttons open your device's phone app with our number. The WhatsApp buttons open WhatsApp with a message already started (“Hello! I'd like some information about a repair:” or, for “Send photos on WhatsApp”, “Hello! I'm sending you photos of the damage to my car.”), which you complete, change or drop before sending. The website only opens these links: it sends and stores nothing.

When you call or message us, we learn your phone number and what you tell us or send us about your car (photos of the damage, for example). We use this only to reply to you and to repair your car, never for marketing, and we do not pass it on to anyone else; when the repair goes through insurance (RCA or CASCO), what the claim file needs may reach the insurer handling it. We keep it only as long as this purpose requires and as long as the law requires (the accounting records of the repair, for example). Legal basis: steps taken at your request before entering into a contract, and performing it, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, and for the records the law requires, Art. 6(1)(c).

WhatsApp is a service of WhatsApp Ireland Limited (part of Meta). What you send us on WhatsApp reaches us through WhatsApp and is processed by it under its own terms and the WhatsApp privacy policy.

The damage fields

In the Claims section of the home page, the “Name”, “Make and model”, “Repair type” and “Message” fields are not a form that gets submitted: there is no submit button, and the website has no server that could receive anything. What you type there is used only in your browser, to prepare the text of the “Continue on WhatsApp” link. The website does not save the values (not even in your browser) and does not record them anywhere.

Nothing reaches us until you press “Continue on WhatsApp” and send the message from WhatsApp yourself, where you can change or delete it first. What you send reaches the workshop on WhatsApp, as described in section 03.

Cookies and local storage

The website sets no cookies, which is why we show you no cookie banner.

In your browser's local storage (localStorage) the website keeps one thing only, and only once you use the theme switch in the header: the theme you chose, under the key “theme”, set to “dark” or “light”, so that the pages open the same way on your next visit. It stays in your browser: it is never sent anywhere and says nothing about you. You can delete it at any time by clearing this website's data in your browser's settings (usually under “Privacy”, “Cookies and site data”); in a private window it disappears when you close the window. Without it, the website opens in the dark theme.

The only possible cookies are Google's, after you choose to open the interactive map (section 06).

The map

The map in the Contact section is, at first, a static image hosted with the website, made from © OpenStreetMap data. The interactive Google Maps map loads only after you press “Show the map”. From that moment your browser connects to Google (Google Ireland Limited), which receives your IP address and may use its own cookies, under the Google Maps terms and the Google privacy policy.

Likewise, the “Open in Google Maps”, “Waze” and “See all reviews on Google” links, and those to WhatsApp, ANPC (the Romanian consumer protection authority) and SOCIAN SOFT (who built the website), take you to their websites or apps, where their own policies apply.

Hosting

The website is hosted by Cloudflare (Cloudflare Pages). Like any web server, Cloudflare briefly processes technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the page requested (technical logs), to deliver the pages and to protect against attacks. We do not use this data to identify visitors. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in a secure, working website, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

Your rights

Regarding your personal data, you have the right:

  • of access: to find out what data we hold about you;
  • to rectification: to have inaccurate data corrected;
  • to erasure (“the right to be forgotten”);
  • to restriction of processing;
  • to data portability;
  • to object to processing based on legitimate interest.

If you are unhappy, you can lodge a complaint with the Romanian data protection authority, ANSPDCP (Autoritatea Națională de Supraveghere a Prelucrării Datelor cu Caracter Personal): www.dataprotection.ro.
